Last Friday, I sent in a just-in-time response to the UK government’s “consultation” on how to “de-carbonize transport.” Or, more simply put, to ban our cars – as quickly as they possibly can.
My response is a 56-page PDF. There’s a lot of detail in there, and some quite strong ideas. So I thought the best way would be simply to put it up on the Internet, and link to it. WordPress, though, had other ideas. It wouldn’t let me link to it, without actually embedding it. So, here it is:
Hm. I only see the title page, no way to download the pdf. Tried several browsers.
It works for me using Chrome. Click inside the text area and you should be able to use PgUp and PgDn keys to scroll the PDF. I suppose it might work for me only because I have author privileges on this site?
I’ll e-mail a copy of the PDF to the address included with your comment (which I assume comes from your WordPress account.
Or paste the following link into a separate browser window:
I’ll try again. Paste the following URL into the browser, after replacing the s by fullstops.
Even that didn’t work. I’ll try without the https:// stuff
thelibertarianalliancefileswordpresscom202008respcon-200731pdf
This is getting silly, I’ll replace the .s and /s by (dot) and (slash) respectively
thelibertarianalliance(dot)files(dot)wordpress(dot)com(slash)2020(slash)08(slash)respcon-200731(dot)pdf
I’ve got it. Very kind of you.

A fine submission. Worth quoting: “I think, you should expect governmentalways to be reasonabletowards the people itgoverns. You should expect itto be respectful of the facts in any matter. And you should expect government always to seek and to present thefacts truthfully, accuratelyand honestly. And it should never present mere theories or hypotheses as if they were facts.”
Thank you, Sean.
the great problem with the vast majority in government is that all they know is theory, so few of them ever having ventured out into the real world to be soiled by us commoners. facts and data are inconvenient things when your intent is to craft a narrative centered in emotion and innuendo.
I’ve just caught up with this and Neil’s document is a masterpiece. It explains more clearly than I have seen elsewhere the genesis of the project to which we are all being subjected.
Thank you, computersforwar. And yes, I put a lot of effort, not only into the document itself, but also into collecting the material over a period of about 3 years.
