Trump’s first big mistake

by D.J. Webb

Theresa May was, for no good reason, granted one of the earliest meetings with President Trump. She apparently used the meeting to peddle her globalist agenda, including the supposed importance of NATO. It seems that Mr Trump is pro-British and has given her a certain latitude; I would have told her to decide within ten seconds if she wanted an alliance and a trade deal to replace Brexit or whether she was going to continue to mouth off on the globalist agenda and thus destroy the relationship with the new administration. MOTHER THERESA’S ‘TRUMP CARD” (Ronald Olden)

Ron Olden

And of course, ‘Mother Theresa’s new script is rather a good one. Let’s hope she sticks to it. The Republican majority in Congress loved her speech, and they see her more as ‘one of themselves’, than they do Trump himself.

And regardless of whether they like or loath one another, the relationship between Trump and Theresa, has the potential to be rather productive for both sides, without either actually having to do, let alone deliver, anything to each other. Continue reading

WALES IS NOT A ‘NATION’

Ronald Olden

Only a fiercely proud Welshman can make a statement like this, and get away with it. But Wales is not a ‘Nation’. We are ‘special’, and ‘special’ in a way which should appeal to ‘libertarians’.

Wales is a ‘Community of Communities’. It has no noticeable ‘National’ characteristic. Within the confines of our Peninsula, Wales is as culturally diverse as the rest of the UK put together. Significant proportions of Welsh people speak a language totally different from English, and even that language varies significantly, between North and South.

North, Mid and South Walian people have little or nothing in common with one another and rarely travel to each other’s regions. Some never manage to do so at all. And the Western third of Wales, whether it be North, Mid or South is very different from the Mid South and Eastern regions. Pembrokeshire, in the far West, is different again, and is sometimes referred to as ‘Little England beyond Wales’. Wales truly is a ‘Community of Communities’.

All that unites the Welsh is the fact tht we are not English, Scottish or Irish.

Wales’ lack of ‘National’ coherence arises from the fact that we never became a ‘Nation State’. We are the part of the island of Great Britain, which isn’t England or Scotland. The Welsh name for Wales is ‘Cymru’ and means ‘foreigner’ or ‘outsider’. Which is exactly what we are. We are outside England. But Continue reading

HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE (Ron Olden)

Ron Olden

The behaviour of the West (including the media), in the persons of various Neo ‘Conservatives’ and liberals, in our dealings with the Middle East since 2001, has been a disgrace. And it shows no sign of abating.

This chaos was entirely caused by the West when it reduced Iraq to anarchy. You cannot remove all civil authority in a country and then abandon it, and especially not, when it is surrounded by pseudo religious murderous suicidal lunatics, and self interested dictatorships of the nature that inhabit the region. All Americans Now?

All Americans Now?
By Sean Gabb
(9th November 2016)

For me – and I think for many others – the American presidential election has been a repeat of the European Referendum. I went to bed with a faint hope. The BBC coverage of the results was filled with faintly crumbling Establishment optimism. I woke and turned on the computer, to look at the same shocked faces as last June. It is too early to say for sure if he has won, but it does seem that Donald Trump will be the next President of America. Continue reading
