UKIP and the Gay Pride March (2015), by Sean Gabb

UKIP and the Gay Pride March
Sean Gabb (18th June 2015)

On the 6th June 2015, the organisers of the Gay Pride March in London announced that they had rejected an application from the UK Independence Party to take part. They had given in to a petition which called UKIP “inherently homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, racist and misogynistic.”

Before making my statement on this ban, I will say the following: Read more

Liberals should retake their word which was stolen, and junk the word “Libertarian” which sounds awfully nasty and is unspellable by “young people”

David Davis

I’ve been thinking about the meanings of words, for about 100 years now (I was born on 4th August 1914 as you all know.)

While “libertarian” means “some sort of   “/*.-arian”   [ – remember DOS anyone?]   who is kind of in favour of individual liberty (that is to say; about choosing this or that course of action and so on, within any agreed legal framework that acknowledges that power), we are now where we are, in a hegemonic climate that’s deeply deeply hostile to any form of nonconformity with the prevailing and “agreed” terms of public discourse. “Anarchists” of the leftoNazi (the only kind of Nazi) persuasion are however tolerated positively and actively, because they are exactly the opposite of what they say. They are “social”, in fact. (See/google “Enoch Powell” + “social” + “word” + “opposite meaning” .)

I have decided that one reason why “libertarians”, such as we here, have got absolutely nowhere in the last 40 years, during which time we should have creamed the World, is that our word for ourselves is an “intellectual” one, and means nothing positive – and indeed has potentially negative connotations – to nearly all people, which is to say about 7 billion. There are perhaps 250,000 people on this planet who actually know what it means in reality, and most of them are opposed academics (Nazis), leftoidNazi journos, or career-politicoNazis. This is not a good place to begin from, to get where we want to go.

We should retake the word “LIBERAL”. Here I promote a comment from Ian B, as follows:- Read more

I thought this was quite interesting.

This is about Gideon Bibles being put in people’s rooms that they live in, in Universities.

Firstly, we could discuss the dilemma faced by those wondering whether Aberystwyth actually “has” a university.

But perhaps this would be slightly below the belt as we are not just here discussing the volume-based-degradation of the “University Concept”. Aberystwyth is a fine town, and there seems to be a university there. We’ll see about that later on.

But in the meantime, the “Universitas” is an essentially West-European-Christian institution; and it is therefore by definition nothing whatsoever to do with post-modern GramscoFabiaNazi fads and their inevitable resulting pogroms. These pogroms, being essentially atavistic, zombie-raised and anti-liberal and pre-capitalist-barbarian phenomena, ought to be isolated and quarantined in the first instance by shutting-down almost all Western “universities”.

It’s sad, and I’m sorry, but if the “guv’nors” of all those 645,675,497 “universities” had been awake, then this  _shut-down_   act would not be necessary. It’s however necessary to turn out the “teachers” and the “students” into the real world, to see if _any of them are any good at anything _ . I’m not trying to out-do Pol Pot; merely to show how wrong the bastard was.

Here, the real issue is about overturning established tradition for the wrong reasons.

Secondly, nobody is forcing  _’students’_ at Aberystwyth to Read more

Most (although not all) of the upper classes, the gentry and aristocracy were not pro censorship and stuff. As for party politics even in the late 19th century such things as the Personal Rights Association contained at least as many Conservatives as Liberals. As the old saying goes “do not ban it – unless it frightens the horses”. Read more

This whole tragic mess is another example of the State addressing a problem which does not exist, though blaming the State is not quite fair as it is doing so basically under pressure from “civil society” groups- pressure groups, the media, etc- and is thus following rather than leading. Libertarians often blame “the State” as if it is an entity with an essence, whereas more often than not, it is following more identifiable groups within the rest of society.

I don’t think Dave Cameron really would have been much interested in this had he not come under colossal pressure from feminist and femiservative groups and media, screaming about mythical rape epidemics, imaginary feminist constructs like “objectification”, and the endlessly vociferous child protection lobby.

This particular ejaculation of State power arose about a year ago as a result of child protectionists ranging from the NSPCC to Netmums to the every self-promoting Claire Perry and professional state-funded hysteric Sue Berelowitz, demanding that Something Must Be Done about Sex Or Something Or Other.

It is the latest in a long tradition of miserable  Read more

ATVOD and Sex Censorship

A good article and some useful points raised in the discussion – thanks Ian.

It’s important to remember that these latest administrative measures, driven by the quango “ATVOD” (you really couldn’t make this up), are designed to shut down UK based producers of porn videos. They do not not criminalise the individual who may view this content. Read more

I’d like to tell you how nasty the “greens” are, but someone else can do it better than I can

David Davis

I think I’ll just send you to read this Christmas Story. It actually really rather scared me badly, and I had difficulty sleeping, thinking my car had been towed away in the night and without a tax disk or an MOT. (It comes to me often,, this dream, I being a Londoner, but this was worse.)

In the end, the GreeNazis are arguably the single or multiple-greatest threat that Humankind faces in the next 100-150 years.

It will probably take that long to (a) get rid of the effing bastards, all their “university departments” (that’s the simple bit – you just close them down) and  – worse – have to cleanse educationally-speaking all their families and those associated with them that got tainted at the same time and cannot be “turned”, and (b) BURN ALL the books (happily mostly in British State Schools so it won’t take long) and delete all the websites (and there are lots, even in enemy-countries) that contain leftoStaliNazi AGW stuff, purporting to the the truth.

It’s a terrible pity really, and it didn’t need to come about, if we had been more vigilant in 1945.
