We repost Sean Gabb’s statement on anti-Semitism which he made while Director of the Libertarian Alliance. We wish to make it clear that Mises UK regards this statement as canonical:
The problem with anti-semitic conspiracy theories is that they involve continuous selection. Therefore, you take the fact that Karl Marx was a socialist, and overlook that he was a racist and cultural conservative. You take the fact that Mahler was a musical revolutionary, and overlook that he was a German nationalist. You wholly overlook people like Ayn Rand and Ludwig von Mises, or Paul Gottfried and Meyer Schiller. You also overlook how many poisonous lefties there seem to be in Israel, calling for open borders and the demotion of Jewish symbols.
Jews tend to be opinionated and vociferous. There are Jews arguing fluently on each side of every argument. You can put together a very convincing theory of Jewish subversion by selecting certain opinions of certain Jews, and ascribing these to all or most Jews. You are left with a composite Jew that may exist in a few instances, but is not representative of the Jews we meet in our everyday lives.
You could, by using the same method, but applying a different principle of selection, prove that Jews were sexually-repressed white nationalists with a tendency to convert to Roman Catholicism. You will also find examples of the resulting composite. Again, it will be unrepresentative.
The truth is that we’ve messed our civilisation up by ourselves, and would have got where we now are even if every Jew in the world had fallen dead c1870.
We regret that recent events have made it necessary to repost this.

There were likely no kids on board EgyptAir Flight 804 that crashed into the Mediterranean Sea, on May 19. Had there been kids on board, we’d be hearing about it a LOT.
Of the 224 people on board the Russian metro jet airbus—it crashed in March—17 were children. I know this because each time TV anchors reported about the plane that went down in the Sinai desert, near El Arish (once way safer because under Israeli control); they counted the kids. Continue reading
In the wake of America’s week-long, Pope Francis bacchanalia, a few column titles suggest themselves:
“Benedict, What Have You Wrought?”
“The Global Village Idiot.”
“Lady Di of The Papacy.”
The last hints at the trendy, pop-philosophies that animate Pope Francis’ Lady Di-like belief system. The intellectual equivalent of these papal shopworn shibboleths you’ll find in a Chinese, fortune-cookie wrapper.
Ultimately, the editor will decide which of these unflattering headings best describes the man whom one devout Catholic—libertarian jurist Andrew Napolitano—called a false prophet for overturning Catholic canon law without consulting his Bishops. Yet another reason Pope Francis is drawn to an authoritarian president who rules by presidential veto. Continue reading
Not so fast, Rachel Dolezal. The country is not finished with you yet. It merely got distracted. We scampered in other directions: onto the “genocidal” Confederate flag and the depraved-heart murders of Freddy Gray (black) and Kathryn Steinle. More “Black Lives Matter” riots took place. Not one “White Lives Matter” march was held. (And as one wag tweeted, Ms. Steinle didn’t sufficiently resemble Barack Obama’s daughters for him to give a damn.) Continue reading
The purpose of this letter is to clarify the nature of your relationship with the Libertarian Alliance Blog. Before you consider answering it, I urge you to read it more than once, and perhaps also to show it to a trusted friend. Continue reading
This is a libertarian blog. I have written on it for almost nine years, so I ought to know. So also do the other writers, some of whom have been here a long time and some have not; we increase all the time. The problem with life however comes in when people that want to simply rub along normally with other people next-door to them get interfered with by GramscoFabiaNazis and the foul designs of thee foul people, who simply want to destroy and not build.
The Scottish and English People have been (more or less) together since long before even the Romans tried to add the Province of Britannia to their empire. The Romans slightly succeeded for almost 400 years but ultimately failed; the reasons for their failure are also down to socialism but that’s for another post, and entails some kinds of economic theory which I will leave to the Director of the LA to explain possibly better than I can.I have never pretended to be an economist; merely a sort of scientist, that tries to observe and conclude.
In the meantime, the Scottish sorts kind-of-rubbed-along with the more southerly-based English sorts. This must have been the case, more or less.
Modern alchemists and suchlike people even find it hard to discern more than subtle differences between Scottish and English DNA. A largish island with more-or-less-uniform topography except at some of the edges, and which is a largish distance – say more than 20 miles – from any nearby landmass, must inevitably end up with a human population like this one over the course of thousands of years. Discussion of unpopular and proactive-GramscoFabiaNazi-driven “immigration” from “vibrant populations of very-very-high-ethnicity”, which is to say that these blokes are very-very-highly-ethnic and also very religious, is another matter totally.
I come now to the Scots. Like us, the Scots People, being white and so on, are not in this century defined as ethnic. There is no biological or psychological reason why their cosmological view ought to differ from ours.
But….in the last couple of decades, a Scottish Nationalist movement has become a not-negligible force in UK politics. Put simply, I put this down to people deciding to vote for people that say they’ll give you, the voter, an ever-increasing proportion of other people’s money. It is quite natural for an uncurious person to decide this is a good thing for himself. The generalised-British LabourNazi party has been saying things like that for more than a century, which is why it has been quite successful and in effect destroyed the Old Liberal Party, Continue reading
This is about Gideon Bibles being put in people’s rooms that they live in, in Universities.
Firstly, we could discuss the dilemma faced by those wondering whether Aberystwyth actually “has” a university.
But perhaps this would be slightly below the belt as we are not just here discussing the volume-based-degradation of the “University Concept”. Aberystwyth is a fine town, and there seems to be a university there. We’ll see about that later on.
But in the meantime, the “Universitas” is an essentially West-European-Christian institution; and it is therefore by definition nothing whatsoever to do with post-modern GramscoFabiaNazi fads and their inevitable resulting pogroms. These pogroms, being essentially atavistic, zombie-raised and anti-liberal and pre-capitalist-barbarian phenomena, ought to be isolated and quarantined in the first instance by shutting-down almost all Western “universities”.
It’s sad, and I’m sorry, but if the “guv’nors” of all those 645,675,497 “universities” had been awake, then this _shut-down_ act would not be necessary. It’s however necessary to turn out the “teachers” and the “students” into the real world, to see if _any of them are any good at anything _ . I’m not trying to out-do Pol Pot; merely to show how wrong the bastard was.
Here, the real issue is about overturning established tradition for the wrong reasons.
Secondly, nobody is forcing _’students’_ at Aberystwyth to Continue reading
