The prospects for private policing in the UK

David Davis

Tim Evans has kindly drawn my attention to this which I missed earlier:-

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1225503/300-residents-hire-private-police-force-clean-lawless-streets.html

If one neighbourhood can do it, why not everywhere? We could soon make “The [State] Police” as redundant as the State Phone company, the State “Post Office”, and the State “hospitals”.

Moreover…

…history teaches us that it is very dangerous to allow “modern” “big” States, such as Russia, Prussia and the UK, to get involved in the minutiae and provision of policing services. Any sort of lefty mountebank could subvert their objectives.

English Coastal Corridor: is this for “ramblers” or for patrolling GUARDS?

David Davis

The government is proposing to nationalise the coastline. The Devil has the usual better details here.

This is ostensibly for the benefit of “ramblers” and other lefties. The idea of property rights and the private enjoyment of them does not seem to figure.

Personally, when it comes to running stuff like firms (or, dare I say it, States?) I do not really trust people who have nothing better to do all day than to stride aimlessly about in the open. Often, they are wearing coloured plastic clothes too, and are performing “walking-stick-theatre”.

They are very clearly under-employed: they should be at their desks working, or in their shops, stacking stock or ordering it, such as cigarettes (not shopping, that’s for other workers in their time off in the night) or in their cars on the road, selling to others.

At a pinch, they could be down in their mines, mining for things people want, like coal or Tungsten or Uranium. That’s not for the faint-hearted among them, I agree.

Now, I do appreciate that there is some point to the close-up enjoyment of beautiful outdoor spaces such as coastlines, mountain landscapes and so forth. I have done it myself, from time to time. But I do not feel the need to go forth and grab, statutorily, all of it at once, on a contingency-use basis, knowing that I personally will probably never take advantage of my land-grab.

No. These people are socialists: this is the sort who want voluntarily to regulate the lives of others to the supposed pace and tenor of their own, and then we often find that theirs bears no resemblence to their recommendation: just regard Polly Toynbee for instance.

I am not a fan of consproacy theories as you all know. But a 10-metre-wide “corridor” (with other prosthetic spaces attached periodically) smacks strongly of a guading-facility. You could get the following into it:-

(1) A razor-wire fence,

(2) Watch towers,

(3) Searchlights,

(4) Trip-wire-machine guns,

(5) Dog runs.

(6) at the expense of the dog runs and trip wires, you might even get a small anti-vehicle trench.

I leave you lot to think about it and draw conclusions.

This has happened because Fabians, other socialists and the Enemy Class have _deliberately_made_ whole demographic groups of modern British children into animals.

David Davis

Barnardo’s has, predictably, being part of the modern ortho-Statist Leviathan dubbed “Big Charity”, hit out at critics of today’s feral street-children, who it seems do actually terrify today’s adults en masse.

Of course, what socialists intend fully for the fate of liberal Western civilisations, is to infantilise and then thoroughly bore children. This will make them into stunningly incurious and also easily-angered juvenile hominids. This is what the buggers want: they can be kept indoors by junk-Wireless-Television (produced by the media/consciousness-moulding-arm of the Enemy Class) and let out at other times to distract ordinary socialised humans from carrying on with their legitimate business.

On the other hand, I also pity and feel for the wretched children: these have been corrupted and used deliberately as an instrument to do evil. They have been robbed of the fortitude, certainty and appreciation of their position in the Universe, that comes from understanding and appreciating the Canon of Western liberal Civilisation.

The entire seven official years of British State Primary School “education” are currently wasted time for these poor children. They come out functionally unable to operate socially in an adult world, nor knowing anything that roots them in a stable liberal culture. I can only assume this is deliberate.

The sum total of these three accidentally-juxtaposed headlines is…we have lost (for now.)

So banks will all do what the GramscoMarxiaNazis will tell them to, and not what their customers want them to.

So the dear leader, who is so ronery, is now our friend. We really didn’t think he was a problem all along, of course.

So the fascist pig Mugabe, who is entirely without any redeeming features, like Mao Tse Tung was, can do what he says he wants to. It was noble, and right of him, to destroy his people’s ability to produce any food at all, for instance.

Honestly, I sometimes don’t know why we good-people carry on trying to save the world. It seems as though there is something perpetually trying to stop us.

Am I too pessimistic about the future of mankind? Discuss.

“NO BAIL OUT OF THE BRITISH FINANCIAL SYSTEM” SAYS LIBERTARIAN ALLIANCE: “LET FAILED BANKS FAIL”

The British Government’s proposed rescue of the financial system is a fraud on the taxpayers and will fail, says the Libertarian Alliance, Britain’s most radical free market and civil liberties policy institute.

[The British Government proposes to spend £50 billion of the taxpayers’ money on lending to the commercial banks in an effort to ease the liquidity crisis. Full story at  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7657422.stm.]

According to Sean Gabb, Director of the LA:

“Final responsibility for this crisis rests with the authorities. For at least ten years, the Bank of England – and the central banks in most other countries – has kept interest rates below the market equilibrium. The result has been an orgy of credit creation by the commercial banks. This led to an asset price bubble that has now burst.

“This should never have been allowed to happen. Interest rates should have been allowed to settle at levels that equalised the supply of savings and the demand for loans. But the question now is what should be done about it. The British Government is proposing to use £50 billion of the taxpayers’ money to buy shares in illiquid banks and other institutions.

“Since this is a state-created problem, some state involvement in solving it might be appropriate. Therefore, if there were any chance that spending the taxpayers’ money would restore stability to the markets, the Libertarian Alliance might not object.

“However, it is obvious that £50 billion will not be enough to restore stability. There are trillions of pounds of imaginary money on the markets. The fundamental problem is that no one really believes in this money today, and it just disappears whenever people stop looking at it. No government on earth can painlessly clean up the mess left by the bursting of the credit bubble.

“Governments can stand back and let weak institutions fail. This will bring on the worst financial collapse since 1931, and be followed by a nasty recession. Or they can spray vast amounts of our tax money into the financial markets, which might briefly delay the worst financial collapse since 1931 and a nasty recession to follow.

“The only real beneficiaries of this rescue will be those working in the financial markets. They have spent the past decade stuffing our savings up their noses while telling us they were invested. Now their friends in government have come up with a scheme to use our tax money to pay next year’s bonuses.

“The Libertarian Alliance denounces this proposed rescue and predicts bad times for years to come.”
