As I have often said on Facebook, it is of no account whatever who is the leader of the “Labour Party”, since it will try to do the same thing over and over again regardless – which is to say: burn down and destroy what semblence of liberalism still exists in the UK.
It must, simply, be shut down and its hard disks malleted, before it can continue to exist to do yet more damage to liberty in the world.
But although people are rating her as a 3%-cert or less, I think all support should be given to her. That will ensure that Labour is unelectable for at least three years.
My younger boy had his first communion today, nine years after the other one who blogs sometimes on here. Unlike many other hard-libertarians, I see no conflict whatsoever between the profession of libertarian ideas, and (with my hard-scientist-hat on) the hypothesis that the astonishing level of observed order in the Universe and its Laws of action _/may/_ be the result of what goes on in God’s Mind.
Creationists have tragcially got the wrong end of the stick. They take folk-tales like the Book of Genesis, written down as the Apostle Paul said quite clearly, “through a glass, darkly”, and try vainly and without hope of success to conflate their supposed meaning to overlay and explain observed reality. It will never work and will only lead to more ructions and maybe “rivers of blood”, but I hope not. Only if the socialists, who cleverly encourage these sadly misguided people for the useful idiots they are, manage to get all the lights turned out and the food-production facilities destroyed, as they wish to do.
The older one has no problem being a libertarian, while heading for a scientist of some kind who can also gig on stage with an electric cello or guitar, and yet can calmly stroll up to the Priest in Mass. Perhaps the younger will be as lucky. Perhaps this intellectual integration can only be properly accomplished in the Anglosphere?
…so much for that, then.
I have not experienced several days of ice (in a row, not serially but collectively) for 46 years. And I even live, now, in a mild-climate-region, in the North, which has always been mild, which is why lots of people in mini-skirts lived here until a few days ago – now they all wear tights.
The cooling is clearly down to our warming the atmosphere.
Must be our fault, then, that we’re now under the ice.
Perhaps if its apparatchiks stopped lifting the wallets of whichever Western Firm is starting to make money there, then things would be different.
A case of two crooks fighting over a bag of swag.
…a political party that has the courage to say:-
WE WILL PUT FEWER POLICE ON THE STREETS AND ON THE “BEAT”,
for the solution is Good People and NOT more police.
David Davis (not that one, Ephraim Hardcastle)
Everybody likes to throw rotten cabbages at poor, innately good, motivated Iain Duncan-Smith. But what else would you suggest right now?
“More Police” may look like a sign of success: their presence may indeed locally and transiently resist the rise in figures for acts of bad-ness. But their existence is an effect of failure, and not success. People should think more, and so they ought to read more books – and I did NOT mean winners of the “Booker Prize” books.
There ought also to be a way for the Free Market to discover how there might be lots and lots of money to be made for James R Murdoch, by having less Wireless Tele Vision. Or preferably none at all for a few years.
Oh, and we could restock “Libraries” with a couple more books each, by having strong thugs on the premises who could lift wheelchairs full of the Disabled up to a height of about 8 or 9 feet.
This is not to say that the Libertarian Alliance supports, or does not support, the prosecution of a war in Afghanistan, or indeed anywhere else, by the West. But I am as blogmaster increasingly concerned that the truth about such wars may not be being broadcast accurately, or at all, by Western MSMs who are institutionally and ideologically opposed to Western Values, the Western Canon of Knowledge and Philosophy, and their propagation. If we are right, then we should propagate. If we are not, then we should not. But we should know.
Here’s an interesting posting from him, which ought to put the wind up people like “Bob” “Ainsworth”*** and “Gordon Brown”.
He needs money, as our government does not like him. He’s just been sacked by our own MOD: that says everything, don’t you think?
You can send him money here. But only if you think you want to.
***How can you give the job of “Minister of Defence” to a man called “Bob”? It seems that at one and the same time the GFNs want to overdignify themselves to the skies, while yet using such prosaically peasant names.
You might also like this. Gordon Brown and Alex Salmond ought not to do shady deals about stuff and guys which harm the people who are prepared to do that.
